UN leader commends Vietnams positive contributions to UN

United Nations (UN) Under-Secretary-General for Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance Catherine Pollard has praised Vietnam’s positive contribution to UN operations, including those made by Vietnamese employees working for UN agencies, according to state news agency (VNA). During a meeting with Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, the UN official expressed her willingness to work closely with Vietnam and other UN member countries to enhance the effectiveness of UN activities, improve multilateralism, and increase member country representativeness.

UN leader commends Vietnams positive contributions to UNIn addition to emphasizing Vietnam’s commitment to contributing actively to UN operations, Ambassador Giang also highlighted Vietnam’s financial contributions and other UN activities, such as sending military and police forces to join the UN peacekeeping force. The Vietnamese attach significant importance to developing relationships with the United Nations and wish to contribute more by increasing Vietnamese representation in UN agencies, he said.

As part of the UN Secretariat, the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance is responsible for business strategy. Intergovernmental and interagency relations are promoted, internal administration and governance issues are addressed, and plans related to finance, budget, human resources, business transformation, information technology, and communications are made.
